FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed friction vibration damper has housing in which friction plates are mounted. Part of friction plates, every other one, are secured in upper head of friction vibration damper located on housing and hinge-mounted on sprung part of railway vehicle. Other part of friction plates is secured n lower head of vibration damper hinge-mounted on unsprung part of railway vehicle. Friction plates are coupled with pressure spring through pressure plate arranged in aperture of housing and provided with inclined plane from side of friction plates against which wedge thrusts located in housing and secured in lower heed of frictional vibration damper for sealing the latter under action of pressure spring as friction plates wear out. Wedge rests through its other surface of friction p-late mating with wedge. Friction plates, wedge, pressure plate and spring are mounted on one axle. EFFECT: improved efficiency of frictional vibration damper, reduced time taken for servicing and repair. 5 dwg
