FIELD: detection in space of objects, predominantly small-size, and location of their positions. SUBSTANCE: according to method for detection of objects and location of their positions space in which searched-for object is illuminated by two beams of pulse laser radiation. Each beam is continuously frequency-modulated by one spatial coordinate. Coordinates by which beams are modulated are mutually orthogonal and lie in plane perpendicular to direction of radiation propagation. Beams of pulse laser radiation are matched in space. Device for realization of method incorporates two sources of phase- modulated laser radiation, two diffraction gratings, two scattering cylindrical lenses, optical reception system, spectrum analyzer, computer. EFFECT: increased probability of detection of objects, especially small-size, in illuminated in decreased time and raised precision of measurement of spatial coordinates. 2 cl, 6 dwg
