METHOD OF FILTRATION OF AIR AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: filtration of air from aerosols in different life support systems of a closed space of transportation means. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of filtration of air and device for its realization. The method may be used for filtration of air from aerosols in different life support systems operating in a closed space of transportation means such as cabins of automobiles, hermetically tight automobile bodies, compartments of airplanes, etc. The technical purpose of the invention is expansion of functionalities, increase of productivity and service life of the filter members. The purpose is realized due to the above stated method of filtration of air, at which an air stream is in succession passed through a hydrophilic filter and a hydrophobic filter and a part of the air stream is withdrawn into the atmosphere. The removed part of the air stream is taken from the space enclosed between the hydrophilic filter and the hydrophobic filter. The device for filtration of air contains: a body with the hydrophobic and hydrophilic filters mounted inside it; a branch-pipe to supply the air for filtration; a branch-pipe to export the filtered (cleaned) air; a branch-pipe to withdraw the polluted air. At that the hydrophilic filter is installed on the outer surface of the hydrophobic membrane cylinder and the space between the membrane cylinder and the hydrophilic filter is connected to the branch-pipe of the polluted air withdrawal.
