FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: device has hydraulic cutting tools connected to supply lines of extreme pressure and abrasive material and provided with cutting heads, which produce mutually perpendicular cutting sprays. Tools with cutting heads are placed on a carriage, which moves along the guide in front of extraction area. Guide is fixed on a vertical beam and is capable of vertical displacement. Device is also provided with transporting means with a pallet for transporting obtained layer blocks. Pallet may come in form of container-like frame with ears for fixing it to the hoist. Device may also include a copying device for making uniform contour slits matching strengthening frame profile by means of cutting tools, and a control panel. EFFECT: means both for layer extraction and creation of safety zone using obtained layer blocks. 5 cl, 2 dwg
