FIELD: display engineering; dc color plasma display panels. SUBSTANCE: plasma effect on phosphor of panel display elements is reduced during gas discharge by producing capacitive structure in each display element relative to gas-discharge gap. Phosphor is disposed on insulating surface of capacitive structure which stores electric charges during plasma excitation; these charged repel positive ions of plasma from phosphor thereby eliminating phosphor bombardment and degradation.
