FIELD: construction engineering; production of glass; delivery of glass melt. SUBSTANCE: assembly of feed pipe for feed reservoir for preliminary cooling chamber of glassmaking furnace includes horizontal lever whose ends are located opposite each other, vertical feed pipe, unit for securing feed pipe fitted on lever, servomotor mounted vertically for actuating the liners drive. Servomotor actuates linear drive for regulation of lever hoist. Method of replacement of feed reservoir of preliminary cooling chamber of glassmaking furnace includes use of assembly of feed pipe with horizontal elongated lever. Feed pipe is secured for rotation on end of in such way that its lowest edge is immersed in feed reservoir. Proposed method includes raising the lever to level when lowest edge of feed pipe is located above feed reservoir, turning the lever around axis shifted from feed pipe till feed pipe is matched vertically with feed reservoir and raising the feed reservoir without removal of lever. Clamping mechanism for clamping the feed pipe has lever with part of handle and part of rounded-off surface of cam. Part of handle passes outside from par of cam. Supporting member connected with handle is rotatable at point near edge; provision is also made for fixed member.
