METHOD OF MANUFACTURING VELOURS FROM SPLIT Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing velours from split obtained from bovine rawstock and is designed for fabrication of uppers, clothes, and fancy leather ware. Method comprises retannage with chrome tanner, neutralization, first greasing with greasing emulsion in amount of 5-6% on the weight of intermediate product (calculated for 100% grease), drying, storing, staking, maceration, dyeing, second greasing, and treatment with formic or acetic acid. First greasing is performed simultaneously with filling, at liquid coefficient 0.8-1.0 and temperature 40-45 C, by consecutive treatment with: (i) aqueous solution of preparation Polinap 105 based on alkali-neutralized acrylic acid polymer with molecular weight 30000-32000 taken in amount 3-4% (everywhere on the weight of intermediate product on conversion to solid material); (ii) synthetic tanner in amount of 2.5-3%; (iii) greasing emulsion and preparation Polinap 105 based on butyl acrylate/methacrylic acid/styrene copolymer in amount 1.5-2%; (iv) formic or acetic acid in amount 0.8-1%. Maceration is carried out in aqueous solution of nonionic surfactant at 50-60 C consuming 6-7% of dye and 3-4% of greasing emulsion (calculated for 100% grease) on the weight of intermediate product in presence of 1-2% of mixture of nafthelenesulfonate and high-molecular anionic surfactant.
