CLAMPING UNIT FOR FLEXIBLE ELONGATED MEMBERS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: units for clamping lengths of wire ropes; locking objects by means of wire rope in form of friction clamp; forming thimbles. SUBSTANCE: proposed unit is provided with insert which is freely located in inner cavity of body forming clearance between side surfaces of this insert and inner cavity of body for passage of elongated flexible member in clamping. Insert has inlet and outlet holes which are communicated with inlet and outlet holes of body and inclined longitudinal slots for receiving two similar spring-loaded rollers or balls. Clamping unit is provided with double-arm lever located turnably inside body; one arm of this lever is engageable with lateral surface of flexible member and other arm of lever is engageable with one of spring-loaded rollers. Turn of lever is ensured when its outer cylindrical lateral surface which is made between lever arms is engageable with cylindrical lateral surface of inner cavity of body.
