FIELD: electrochemistry, study of corrosion. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to coulometric methods of measurement of quantity of reacted substance. Depth of largest formed local damages is measured only once to establish parameters of law of growth of averaged pitting on termination of exposure of electrode. Polarizing current is recorded in process of potential control of electrode under potential of pitting forming. Sum of dissolution currents of individual pittings depending on time of their initiation is found. EFFECT: diminished labor input, increased accuracy of estimation of parameters of law of growth of averaged pitting.
