COLOR VISUAL INDICATOR OF ABSORBED DOSE OF IONIZING RADIATION AND PROCESS OF ITS MANUFACTURE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2225625 C2

FIELD: mass radiation sterilization of articles of medical assignment. SUBSTANCE: indicator has additional layers, namely, adhesive sublayer and reflecting layer in addition to substrate and radiation-sensitive layer. Adhesive sublayer is made of copolymers of vinyl row or their mixture and is put on flexible backing. Reflecting layer is built on base of metals of I-VIII groups, or their salts and/or oxides, polymer binder and plasticizer and is arranged between adhesive sublayer and radiation- sensitive layer. Indicator has additional protective layer placed above radiation-sensitive layer which comprises UV absorber and polymer binder. Radiation-sensitive layer also includes plasticizers. In process of manufacture of indicator adhesive sublayer incorporating copolymers of vinyl row or their mixtures and reflecting layer built on base of metals of I-VIII groups, or their salts, and/or oxides, polymer binder and plasticizer is consistently applied to uninterruptedly moving flexible backing in parallel with application of radiation-sensitive layer made of polymer binder, luminophor and halogen-carrying sensitizer and its drying. After application of radiation-sensitive layer additional protective layer including UV absorber and polymer binder is applied. Then radiation-sensitive layer is injected with plasticizers. Each layer is dried after its application. EFFECT: increased sensitivity, stability, light resistance and mechanical strength. 7 cl, 1 tbl
