FIELD: automatic control over longitudinal movement of automobile under conditions of city saturated traffic. SUBSTANCE: device of follow-up control over longitudinal movement of automobile includes meter of relative speed and distance between given automobile and vehicle running in front of it, master unit of reference distance, former of difference of measured distance and reference distance, transmitter of specific force generated by move-and-brake system of automobile, control unit, filtration unit of data of measurement of deviation of measured distance from reference distance between given automobile and vehicle running in front of it as well as of relative speed of automobile and vehicle running in front of it and unit evaluating value equal to sum of acceleration of vehicle running in front and specific forces of resistance to automobile rolling and air normalized to own mass of automobile. EFFECT: reduced number of follow-up errors between positions of given automobile and vehicle running in front of it. 12 dwg
