FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: vehicle speed is measured to define acceleration sign and magnitude, negative acceleration is used to generate and memorize signal ''braking start'' and vehicle is braked. Then, braking path is defined with due allowance for vehicle speed variation in definite time interval. Note here that distance to vehicle ahead is determined, current braking path is compared to aforesaid distance to analyse dynamics of variation in said relation and to define time to approach ahead vehicle. Obtained values are compared to preset values. Now, signal corresponding to braking conditions is generated proceeding from approach time to indicate braking conditions required to avoid collision. Proposed device comprises total braking path indicator, speed transducer and computer connected in series, distance meter unit, safe distance meter unit and braking conditions indicator.
EFFECT: efficient selection of braking conditions.
