FIELD: fire prevention. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a gas composition for volumetric fire extinguishing, that is dealt with the combined means of gas extinguishing and may be used for volumetric extinguishing of A2, B, C, E class fires and for phlegmatization of explosive-hazard mediums in the limited space, and also for localization of A1 class fires. The composition contains a diluting air agent in the form of a fluorine-containing hydrocarbon and a component inhibiting burning in the form of an iodofluorine- containing hydrocarbon with two atoms of iodine, in which all other atoms of hydrogen are substituted for atoms of fluorine at the following ratio (in mass %): the diluting agent - 40-98; the inhibitor - 2-60. The composition ensures a high fire extinguishing capacity and improved operational features.
