FIELD: sorption purification of liquid fuels. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes preparation of sorbent in the form of particles including mixture of zinc, silicon, aluminum, and cobalt oxides mainly in lower valence state and intended for desulfurization of liquid cracking gasoline or diesel fuel stream in desulfurization zone employing a method comprising contact of such liquid stream on desulfurization zone followed by separation of resulting stream with low sulfur level and sulfurized sorbent, the latter being regenerated and activated before returned into desulfurization zone.
