FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to adsorbents for removing sulphur from cracked petrol or diesel fuel. The adsorbent contains 10 wt % to about 25 wt % aluminium oxide, 10-20 wt % silicon dioxide, 35-65 wt % metal oxide selected from groups IIB and VB, 8-20 wt % metal catalyst selected from groups VIIB and VIII, 1-5 wt % metal oxide selected from group IA. The group IA metal oxide is uniformly distributed in the entire volume of the adsorbent. The method of production involves preparing a moulding mixture from an acidic suspension containing an adsorbent precursor, moulding, drying and calcining to obtain a support. A precursor compound of the metal catalyst is then added to the support and reduced in a hydrogen-containing atmosphere. Sulphur is removed from the obtained adsorbent at 350-500°C.
EFFECT: obtaining an adsorbent with high wear-resistance and high activity with respect to sulphur extraction.
