FIELD: dimensional working of materials, namely cutting sheet materials, possibly in machine engineering, instrument making for manufacturing parts of thin sheet such as plates of magnetic circuits of electric machines and transformers. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing sheet on stencil-plate; cutting out parts along grooves of stencil by means of focused laser beam and stream of technological gas; alternating procedures of cutting out contour of part in steel stencil-plate and in worked sheet while using the same control program and at the same orientation of contour in coordinate system of table; cutting out contour of part in stencil-plate inside oxygen stream in mode of developed lateral burning; selecting parameters of cutting in such a way that to provide cutting width equal to diameter of oxygen stream. EFFECT: lowered labor consumption, reduced time period of process for making parts, enhanced accuracy of made parts. 2 dwg, 1 ex
