Abstract RU 2225873 C2

FIELD: manufacture of foamed graphitized materials used for friction parts. SUBSTANCE: production of graphitized foamed blank includes preparation of mixture from resol phenol resin, ground meso-phase pitch, surfactant, catalyst and physical foaming and heating this mixture to temperature of 50 C for obtaining foamed blank followed by heating it to temperature of 600-2000 C for obtaining graphitized foamed blank with open cells. Blank thus produced contains no fibers at reduced degree of volumetric anisotropy which is important for manufacture of disks from composite carbon-based materials used as friction disks of aircraft motors.
