FIELD: road building. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road building, namely, to equipment for compacting hot asphalt-concrete mixtures placed on road base and design of compacting working member of said asphalt spreader. Proposed member is made in form of plate installed at angle of attack relative to road base. Angle of attack does not exceed angle of inner friction of compacted material. Plate is hinge-joined by one end with frame of asphalt spreader, and by other end it is hinge-coupled with vibration source. Axis of hinge joint coupling plate with frame is out of zone of contact with compacted material. Working surface of plate consists of two sections, rear section being part of cylinder over length. Axes of hinge joint coupling rear section of plate with frame of asphalt spreader lies on generatrix of cylinder surface. EFFECT: improved efficiency at compacting.
