FIELD: building industry, particularly for supporting girders, posts, beam knees, rafters during building construction. SUBSTANCE: load-supporting unit has main wood member and longitudinal metal reinforcement arranged on horizontal sides thereof. Metal reinforcement is enclosed along the whole circumference thereof by additional wood member. One or two horizontal sides of main wood member have longitudinal slots. Reinforcement is formed as metal plates arranged transversely to horizontal sides of wood member and press-fitted into slots. Plates have stops embedded into slot walls for prevention of longitudinal motion. Plates are fixedly connected one to another by horizontal metal slat. Main and additional wood members have equivalent cross-sections and longitudinal slots are formed in each member such that plates are joined into X- shaped, H-shaped, single or double E-shaped profile. EFFECT: increased technological effectiveness.
