FIELD: protection of areas and objects against unauthorized invasion. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposure of unauthorized person to stepping voltage that will not cause his death. To this end insulation-covered piece of conductor is horizontally buried in ground on area being guarded through small depth and electrically connected to electrode disposed above backing made of high-resistivity material which greatly enhances current spreading area; conductor is connected through switching device to actuating-voltage generating source.
