SUBSTANCE: method consists in trapping positively or negatively charged lightning discharges by electrically connecting a DC source like a cathodic converter, carbon-graphite and steel earthing switches, interception rods through diode-resistor blocks, an overvoltage protection circuit breaker, contact devices using a steel reference electrode, while providing a involuntary riding to the rod lightning receiver and ground loop of a negative potential for removing positive lightning from protected object and involuntary riding on the rod lightning receiver and the ground loop of a positive potential for removing of negative lightning discharges, while the carbon-graphite anode and steel cathode earthing switches act as interception rods ground loops, the potential on the anode ground loop and the interception rod does not exceed plus 80 volts and the potential on the cathode ground loop and the interception rod does not exceed minus 10 volts of the relative steel reference electrode.
EFFECT: protection of industrial facilities from lightning discharges regardless of discharges polarity, exclusion of fire and explosion hazard and threats to human and ecology.
