FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns production of aliphatic di- and polyamines, which are widely used as amine- type hardeners for epoxide resins, in manufacture of additives, and in polymer synthesis. Ethylenediamine and polyethylenepolyamines are obtained by interaction of dichloroethane with 20-70% aqueous ammonia solution at dichloroethane-to-ammonia molar ratio 1:(2-6.4), temperature 130 to 180 C, pressure 0.8 to 7.0 MPa, and vigorous stirring at 60 to 3000 rpm. Advantageously, reaction mass is completed with 5 to 40% (on the weight of dichloroethane involved in reaction) of light fraction obtained in distillation of ethylenediamine and polyethylenepolyamines. Light fraction is composed of, wt %: ethylenediamine 60-75, piperazine 0.15-0.3, diethylenetriamine 20-35, N-(β- aminoethyl)piperazine 0.3-0.4 and used in the form of 20-60% aqueous solution.
