FIELD: corrosion protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protecting metals against corrosion in acid, aqueous-salt, and hydrogen chloride-containing media, more particularly acid corrosion inhibitors based on polyamines and benzyl chloride to be applied in chemical and oil-and-gas production industries as well as in metallurgy and power engineering with different types of acid processing of products, equipment, and during transportation of acids. Method is implemented by reaction of acyclic and cyclic di- and polyamines with ethylene and propylene groups alternating between nitrogen atoms, or mixed ethylene or propylene groups, with benzyl chloride at 50-70оС in alcohol medium in presence of 20-30% hydrochloric acid solution during a period of time 4-6 h. Inhibitor may further contain 5 to 30% urotropin.
EFFECT: increased yield of inhibitor and enhanced metal corrosion protection efficiency.
