METHOD OF DISINTEGRATING FOSSIL COAL FUEL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: coal-mining industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with technology of production of powder-like coal fuel for flare combustion on heat-and-power plants. Disintegration is accomplished by affecting material by microwaves, specific absorbed power P of which is chosen from condition: P = C_p(T₁-T₂)/t, where C_p denotes specific heat capacity of coal, T₁ initial temperature thereof, T₂≥ 125 C, and t is coal heating time from T₁ to T₂. Experiments have shown that pulverization of coal takes place at microwave heating to 125 C and typical size of coal grains ranges from 10 to 20 mcm. EFFECT: intensified disintegration operation.
