FIELD: manufacture of acetylene bottles filled with porous masses. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making and(or) restoring cylindrical part and bottom of bottle body; subjecting cylindrical part to hydraulic tests for strength; then forming porous fibrous mass "PRETTY" by helically coiling mat of basalt fiber with intermediate layers. The last are made of highly wettable web and reinforcing net or perforated belt of heat conducting metallic material; placing coil inside cylindrical part at side of open bottom end; assembling it with bottom for welding and for annular seam welding along thickened edges or for welding at placing on welded seam reinforcing ring; carrying out pneumatic tests for tightness. EFFECT: improved efficiency and effectiveness of simplified manufacturing process, enhanced reliability of testing, high quality and enhanced operational reliability of acetylene bottles. 1 dwg, 3 ex
