FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: horizontal louvers consisting of protective slats with angle of opening equal to 90o are installed bef0ore headlights. Slats of louvers are mechanically coupled with lever provided with electric drive with control unit. Said control unit includes, as louvers position control panel, headlight switch and high-low beam switch. Control unit is furnished with automatic louver slats adjusting circuit to provide setting of louver slats at angle to optical axis of headlight at high beam mode for shielding light of headlights at illumination by oncoming vehicle. Said circuit includes photosensor adjusted to low beam oncoming light at safe distance from oncoming vehicle, photosensor signal amplifier, and actuating relays providing switching on and off headlight shielding mode by signal of photosensor. Moreover, control unit contains disk contactor as limit switch of OPEN, CLOSED and MIDDLE positions of louvers. Said contactor is installed on shaft of one of two geared motors of electric drive with reversing electric motors. Invention improves safety on road owing to automatic changing over from high to low beam and back. Use of geared motors excludes errors caused by spread in parameters of electric motors. EFFECT: improved safety. 1 dwg
