FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for automatic switching of the lighting modes in vehicles and can be used as addition to a standard lighting system of vehicles. The device for automatic switching of lighting modes contains a photoresistor-based photosensor, a lighting mode control and switching unit, a supply voltage switch and a voltage stabiliser for use of the device in vehicles with onboard mains supply voltage both 12, and 24 V, short circuit protection, a passing beam delay switching timer, a driving beam delay switching timer, an impulse generator, an automatic external lighting control mode switch and a lighting mode switching relay. The control unit is connected directly to a terminal of driving beam switching from the manual switch of lighting modes, and the control unit outputs are connected to the passing and driving beam switching relay.
EFFECT: decrease of number of road accidents as a result of dazzling of the oncoming car drivers, at the expense of possibility of use of this device on one of the cars moving towards to each other and its correct operation irrespective of the structure of the lighting system of the oncoming car, and also its installation on all types of vehicles is achieved.
