FIELD: electric energy systems, telephony, telecontrol and telesignalling systems. SUBSTANCE: in compliance with method initial subarray of size b presenting several first records of examined signal is recorded as well as comparable subarray of same size shifted with reference to initial subarray through time interval belonging to anticipated region of location of sought-for value of period. Sizes of compared subarrays are chosen depending on level of possible noises. Arithmetic deviation between mentioned subarrays is found and array of sums of evaluations is formed by sorting out every possible comparable subarray in anticipated region of location of sought-for value of period and by their comparison with initial subarray. Minimal value falling at sought-for value of period is chosen from it. EFFECT: potential for processing multifrequency signals of unspecified spectral composition with high level of noise under real time mode which does not require large number of storage cells. 3 dwg, 2 tbl
