FIELD: power machinery equipment, particularly cooling equipment for cooling of reused water after heat-exchanger. SUBSTANCE: water cooler has case with upper and lower closures, liquid inlet and outlet nipples. Vertical and horizontal partitions are arranged into case. Vertical partitions are connected with horizontal partitions. Vertical partitions have slots between lower edges thereof and lower horizontal partition plane. Partitions divide case hollow into raise step and cooling step. Partitions are formed of hydrophilic or hydrophobic material or covered with hydrophilic or hydrophobic material and filled with porous filling mater. Upper horizontal partition do not has any slots. The following horizontal partitions comprise slots. Alternate vertical partitions are connected in turn by upper or lower edges thereof with neighbor upper or lower horizontal partition surface such that slots alternately located near lower or upper horizontal partitions are formed. Slots create n hollow steps of free surface, n-1 cooling steps and one rise step alternately arranged in flow direction between each neighbor horizontal partitions. Cooling steps are filled with porous filling mater such that porous filling matter projects through upper slots and occupies upper part of hollow steps of free surface. Steps are connected in vertical direction by compensating pipes having orifices formed in upper part of each step. Compensating pipes pass through each horizontal partition.
