FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device has superposed out-of-round gauge with self- setting supports which are rotatably secured at ends of body 1. End-piece of main measuring sensor 3 is connected with meter made in form of disk 4 having one hole 5. Optical path-control sensor 6 is rigidly connected with axle of this disk. Angle-of-turn sensor 8 is mounted on body of out-of-round gauge. End-piece of angle-of-turn sensor is rigidly connected with rod 7 which is connected in its turn with body of out-of- round gauge and with base 9. Base is immovably connected with transversal carriage 11. Arranged outside body are revolution sensor 15 and information storage and monitoring unit 16 which is connected with all sensors. Prior to measurement, mark is made on surface of body under test. Rollers are brought in contact with surface under test by means of carriage of machine. In the course of rotation of body under test, readings are taken off all sensors by signal from path-control sensor till body performed at least one revolution. Then, gauge is shifted by transversal carriage to obtain similar position in radial direction in all sections. Number of revolutions in each section is determined as number of signals from revolution sensor. Then, data obtained during measurements are processed in computer.
