FIELD: measurement technology, metrological devices measuring geometrical shape of real nominally round cylindrical parts. SUBSTANCE: process consists in measurement of lack of roundness of part in cross-section during its rotation with the se of key measurement transducer of applicable out-of-round gauge with self-setting supports. Vertical support of out-of-round gauge coupled to frame carries additional measurement transducer resting against body of out-of-round gauge. In process of rotation of part key transducer measures lack of roundness of cross-section of part and additional transducer measures radial run-out of center of medium circumference of this profile. While transducers are moved along rotating part key transducer measures lack of roundness of profiles of cross-sections and change of radius of medium circumference of these profiles. Values of these measurements are used to evaluate form of profile of cross-section of part. Additional transducer measures running out of true of centers of medium circumferences which values are employed to evaluate rectilinearity of axis of part. Lack of roundness and misalignment of tested profile are measured relative to basic one. Signals from transducers go to signal processing unit. Unit for realization of process has applicable out-of-round gauge with self-setting supports which case houses key measurement transducer, additional measurement transducer mounted on vertical support coupled to frame. Tip of transducer rests against case of out-of-round gauge. EFFECT: widened list of measured geometrical characteristics of nominally round cylindrical part. 7 cl, 5 dwg
