FIELD: preparation of electrolyte solutions for lithium cells and storage batteries. SUBSTANCE: technical effect of invention lies in drying of high-boiling, thermally unstable compounds which disintegration temperature is markedly beneath their boiling temperature by method of azeotropic rectification. Certain amount of mixture of two organic solvents, one of them displaying boiling temperature beneath start of thermal decomposition of second solvent prepared with definite proportion, and azeotrop-forming component (benzene, hexane) are loaded on mixture of solvents in cube of rectification column with proper efficiency and number of theoretical trays. Electrolyte solution (still residue) obtained after removal of proper amount of distillate contains under 30 ppm(3•103 per cent by mass) of water. Yield of dried product is not less than 92 per cent by mass. Electrolyte is prepared by mixing definite amount of dehydrated lithium salt with dried electrolyte solution. EFFECT: raised yield of dried product. 1 tbl
