FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves treatment of phlogopite with energy of high-frequency electromagnetic field; it includes loading procedure; positioning of phlogopite at point of loading; uniform and rectilinear displacement in plane-parallel manner to E- strength vector of electrical component of microwave alternating electromagnetic field; forced air supply at 25-40 C while steam is uniformly let out along entire treatment path at speed found from formula given in description of invention; concentration of power dissipated in phlogopite within 13 to 19 MW per cubic meter of non-swollen phlogopite. Microwave device for hydrated phlogopite treatment has waveguide chamber made in the form of straight rectangular waveguide with narrow side used as its base rigidly joined at butt-ends to beyond-cutoff waveguides, dielectric ledge fixed inside waveguide through its width and length in parallel to waveguide base; conveyer made in the form of dielectric band mounted for moving over ledge; loading unit provided with component that functions to position phlogopite supplied to conveyer in plane- parallel manner to E-strength vector of electrical component of alternating microwave electric field; steam discharge and warm-air admission components, steam discharge components being uniformly disposed on upper narrow side of waveguide and warm-air admission ones, on its remaining longitudinal sides; all air admission and steam discharge components communicate with forced air supply and steam let-out devices.
