FIELD: manufacture of digital record magnetic media for various data recording, storage, and reproduction devices. SUBSTANCE: method includes deposition of several nonmagnetic layers onto nonmagnetic substrate wherein regularly distributed magnetic particles are formed with nonmagnetic gaps in-between. Proposed method is characterized in that layers holding magnetic particles formed are made of material that converts their nonmagnetic properties into magnetic ones under action of accelerated particle flux; underlying layer is thinner than that above the latter and than layers providing for anti- ferromagnetic coupling between magnetic particles formed; it is also characterized in that after deposition of all layers structure produced in the process is irradiated through mask by accelerated particle flux. Materials proposed to ensure anti-ferromagnetic coupling are Ir, Rh, Re, Ru, Cu, and Mo; protons, helium ions, hydrogen or helium atoms are proposed for use as accelerated particles.
