FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of treating formaldehyde-containing waste waters and can be used at woodworking industry enterprises. To neutral waste formaldehyde-containing water is added urea at its molar ratio to formaldehyde 1.0:(1.3-1.5) and resulting mixture is exposed to contact, during 10-15 min, with porous acid sorbent used in amount 30-35 g/l. 99.98% of formaldehyde is thus removed.
