FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the method of mineral sorbent preparation on the base of the porous minerals. The said sorbents are destined for purification of the sewage waters by formaldehyde absorption and can be used in chemical and wood processing industries in the decontamination of industry waste water. The sorbent is prepared by the consequent thermic and chemical processing of the opal-crystobalite milled beforehand; the thermic processing is carried out by calcination at 150-500°C during 60-180 min, the following chemical processing is implemented with the help of modifying agent (5-20% water solution of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane), the said processing is carried out at room temperature during 15-45 min. Then sorbent is dried, rinsed with water and redried. The obtained sorbent is effective at the purification of sewage waters with formaldehyde content in the range 10 - 150 mg/l.
EFFECT: enhancing of raw material base for obtaining of formaldehyde-selective sorbents.
