FIELD: mechanical engineering; piston engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contains working shaft and cylinders with combustion chambers. Each cylinder has piston with cross pin and motion transforming mechanism to transform reciprocation of piston into rotation of shaft. Motion transforming mechanism of each cylinder includes two connecting rods and two coaxial and one side bevel gears. Coaxial gears are installed for interaction with side gear connected coaxially with working shaft or made integral with said shaft. Each coaxial gear is provided with pin secured eccentrically relative to its axis and hinge-connected with end of one of connecting rods. Second end of each connecting rod is connected with piston pin. Axes of coaxial gears and axes of their pins are parallel to axis of piston pin. Pins of coaxial gears are located at equal distance from axes of coaxial gears. Moreover, side gears of motion transforming mechanisms of all cylinders are installed coaxially and connected by common axle. In each two adjacent cylinders, connecting rods and pistons of coaxial gears of motion transforming mechanism of one of cylinders are arranged, relative to connecting rods and pins of coaxial gears of motion transforming mechanism of second cylinder to provide antiphase movement of pistons of said cylinders. When piston of one of cylinders is in top dead center, piston of second cylinder is in bottom dead center. EFFECT: reduced friction losses at transmission of torque from coaxial gears of motion transforming mechanism of each cylinder to engine working shaft. 2 cl, 3 dwg
