DISC SHEARS FOR SHEARING METALLIC SHEETS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: procedures relating to roofing works. SUBSTANCE: shears include housing; stationary mounted in its supports mutually parallel axles with freely rotating disc shears; mechanism for controlling axial gap and radial overlapping between disc cutters. Housing has plate with turnings for disc cutters and lateral cover strips rigidly joined with housing. Mean portion of housing is in the form wedge-shaped bridge formed by means of two lengthwise grooves provided in housing at opposite sides relative to shearing plane and diverging in shearing plane from place of disc cutter overlapping. Mechanism for controlling axial gap includes axle of disc cutter; said axle is in the form of bolt with cylindrical head and adjusting nut. Mechanism of radial overlapping is in the form of eccentric portion arranged near head of bolt and lock screw placed in housing.
