FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: method is implemented in tubular reactor at pressure above 1000 bar and temperature between 120 and 350 C. Polymerization proceeds according to free-radical type wherein small amounts of radical chain reaction initiator are initially added to flowing fluid containing ethylene, molecular weight regulator, and (if needed) polyethylene. Fluid is first divided into two separately flowing volume elements, which are further mixed together by means of appropriate jet elements imposing opposite sense rotation to give a single flowing fluid. At the moment of and shortly after joining oppositely rotated flowing volume elements, radical chain reaction initiator is added into interface region between the two volume elements. Invention also propose apparatus for implementation of the method.
