FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers. Method for polymerization or copolymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of free-radical polymerization initiators is described. Polymerization is carried out in continuous polymerization reactor at temperature of 100–350 °C and pressure of 180–340 MPa. Composition of reaction gas is brought to polymerization pressure by combination of operation of the first stage compressor and the second stage compressor. In this case, compressed composition of reaction gas is supplied totubular reactor inlet or composition of the reaction gas is divided into main stream supplied to the inlet of tubular reactor, and one or more lateral streams fed to tubular reactor downstream to tubular reactor inlet. Specific surface area Asp reactor, which is 2–5.5 m2/(t/h). Tubular reactor has specific ratio RDsp 0.0050–0.0069 MPa-1 and roughness Ra in inner surface is 2 mcm or less.

EFFECT: high degree of conversion of monomers to polymer for reactor cycle.
