TOWED REEL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: sea equipment. SUBSTANCE: the towed reel of the cable of communication line of an undersea moving object to a launching ramp is provided with a baffler of the opposite cable through which the reel towing cable is passed. The baffler is installed on the nose part of the reel and fixed with a device attaching it to the undersea moving object. The baffler consists of two hinge-joined and spring- loaded shackles. At an intersection with the earlier wound out cable the latter gets off on the towing cable and is thrown down through the baffler under the reel thus preventing pulling through of the cable in water. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the towed reel. 3 dwg
