METHOD FOR CONDUCTING HEAT IN SIBERIAN STAGS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: antlers reindeer breeding. SUBSTANCE: the method deals with developing 3 groups consisted of females and 3 groups consisted of stag beetles in bonitation (or grading) period followed by their separate raising till the next heat. The age of females corresponds to up to 6 years in junior group, 7-9 years - in average group and 10-16 years - in older one. The age of stag beetles corresponds to up to 7 years in junior group, 8-10 years - in average group and 11-12 years in older one. At heat onset female groups should be supplemented with stag beetles from corresponding age groups at 1 : 8 ratio, substitution of weakened breeders should be performed due to introducing younger stag beetles instead of older ones. The method provides increased output of offspring, decreased traumaticity in stag beetles and optimal conditions in keeping animals of different age. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 2 tbl
