SUBSTANCE: presented method is carried out during the period of cutting antler velvet. The assessment is carried out after the third cut of antler velvet according to a parameter equal to the difference between the weight of antler velvet from young stags after the first cut and the weight of antler velvet after the third cut, while at the parameter value of 2 kg and more, an animal should be considered highly productive.

EFFECT: increasing the objectivity of the assessment of antler velvet production by means of eliminating the losses of highly productive animals and reducing the percentage of productive Siberian stags in a stock herd.
