METHOD FOR SELECTING PARAMETERS OF APPARATUSES FOR GAS-FLAME METAL WELDING AND CUTTING Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: welding technology, possibly selection of parameters of safety burning for apparatuses for gas-flame welding and cutting of metals used in domestic and industrial condition. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of constructing diagram of stable burning having set of similar rectangles placed on diagonal equal to 1.62 x length of half-wave of flame front at stable burning. Contour of those rectangles defines groups of characteristics of parameters. On base of said diagonal stability diagram is constructed; each zone of diagram corresponds to one group of parameters of stable burning. Said zones are restricted at one side by helix changing in polar coordinate system according to law ρ = L•βϕ/π at -n π<ϕ<0 and 0<ϕ<2l, where ρ - beam of polar coordinate system; β - diagonal of similar rectangles; L - length of half-wave of front of flame of stable burning; ϕ - beam rotation angle; n - order number. Another side of each zone in range of beam rotation by angle π/2 is limited by means of boundary arcs coaxial to helix and having radiuses respectively equal to maximum beam of helix of previous zone. Stability factor is calculated according to difference between helix and boundary arc in given zone. Parameters are calculated while taking into account calculated stability factor.
