FIELD: metal-working industry. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents the method of a surface treatment of the thin sheet rolled low-carbon steel. The method provides for chemical treatment of a surface of metal materials, in particular, to a chemical surface treatment with utilization of water acid solutions and is intended to increase processing characteristics of the thin sheet low-carbon steel and items made out of it. The method of the surface treatment of the thin sheet low-carbon steels includes pickling in the heated 15-20 % solution of sulfuric acid under increased pressure of 5-20 atmospheres (0.5-2.0 Mpa) for 15-30 minutes. Utilization of the invention ensures increase of processing characteristics of steel, exposed to pickling in acid medium. EFFECT: the method ensures an increase of the thin sheet rolled low-carbon steel processing characteristics after the surface chemical treatment. 1 ex, 1 tbl
