FIELD: heating gases in various process plants such as drying agents in farm grain driers. SUBSTANCE: burner has fan, combustion chamber for fuel gasification and combustion, fuel atomizing device mounted in butt-end section of combustion chamber, fan-joined shell accommodating combustion chamber and forming annular space around the latter for air passage+ADs- combustion chamber has side ports for air admission from annular space to gasification and combustion zones, respectively+ADs- combustion chamber has gasification section and combustion section+ADs- gasification section is made in the form of diffuser enclosing fuel spray cone+ADs- combustion section is made in the form of series connected contraction and diffuser. Annular slit for air passage is provided at mating point between sections. Butt-end part of gasification section has air passage holes. Swirler having central bore is installed in combustion section diffuser. Side ports for air feed to combustion zone are disposed downstream of swirler. Combustion chamber is enclosed by safety shield attached to its contraction and diffuser. Inlet part of combustion-section contraction encloses outlet part of gasification section diffuser and covers it in axial direction. Outlet part of gasification section diffuser and inlet part of combustion section contraction have cylindrical bands+ADs- annular air admission slit is formed by clearance between these bands. Proposed burner provides for improved mixing of air and fuel as well as reduced probability of local flame overcooling and fuel spraying onto combustion chamber walls.
