FIELD: nonferrous metal industry+ADs- electrolytic aluminum production. SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used to prepare anode mass under pin for dry anode technology of aluminum electrolyzer with upper current supply includes installation of briquettes, 0.1 to 4.0 cm in cross-sectional area, 0.5 to 4.0 m in loading height into mold and supply of air heated or cooled to 0 - 40 C at pressure of 3.0 - 12.0 kPa while discharging wet air from briquette surface with aid of draft ventilation. Briquetted anode mass is dried out until its moisture content drops to 0.1 - 0.9+ACU-. Moisture content determined in the process as function of above drying parameters is found from definite dependence. Proposed method has to ensure elimination of emergency situations when changing position of current-conducting pins as result of steam escape in the course of aluminum electrolysis and adhesion of briquettes+ADs- it also has to provide for optimal moisture content in anode muss under pins. EFFECT: improved physical and mechanical properties of secondary anode+ADs- enhanced efficiency of drying process due to reduced labor consumption and capital outlays. 3 cl, 1 dwg
