SINTERING MACHINE IGNITION HEART Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2229665 C2

FIELD: metallurgy+ADs- ore sintering. SUBSTANCE: ignition hearth has main chamber whose flat suspension roof mounts flat-flame burners joined to oxidant and fuel distribution headers and at least one additional chamber. Oxidant headers are made within main chamber in the form of transverse box-section roof beams provided with perforated screens which are disposed above top plane of burner swirlers at clearance equal to at least 0.25 of diameters of inlet cross-sectional area of burner swirlers to transfer hot oxidant to burner+ADs- distance to heat absorbing wall of beam equals 5 - 7 diameters of perforated screen holes. Transverse roof beams are provided with transfer headers to discharge part of hot oxidant from jet cooling recuperators to cover of at least one additional chamber disposed upstream and/or downstream of main chamber along sintering machine flow path. EFFECT: reduced power requirement for igniting sinter charge fuel, simplified design and enhanced reliability of hearth. 2 cl, 4 dwg
