FIELD: electrical engineering; inductor-type reluctance motor control. SUBSTANCE: proposed method boils down to generation of current pulse by driving in conduction both switches of voltage inverter phase; as soon as current rises to desired value, either of inverter power switches is turned off for definite time interval whereupon it is turned on again, and this process is continued up to desired moment when current pulse ceases; then both switches of voltage inverter are closed, time interval of first off-operation of one inverter switch t01 being assumed to equal t01 = n/fkref where fkref is desired current pulsation frequency; n is factor; 0 < n < 1, and time intervals of next off-operations, if any, are found from formula where t0i is time interval of preceding off-operation of one inverter switch; Tk is switching period obtained; Tk = tk - tk0, where tk and tk0 are last and next to last moments when desired current was attained; at the end of time interval t0jcurrent is checked for reduction below desired value within this time, otherwise this interval is extended by m/fkref where m is factor; 0 < m < 1; then check is repeated until above-given condition is satisfied.
