FIELD: electrical engineering; current generation in phase windings of inductor-type reluctance motors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves use of half-wave voltage inverter incorporating two power switches in each phase; current pulse generation is initiated by turning on both switches of voltage inverter phase. As soon as desired value of current is attained, either of inverter power switches is turned off for definite time interval. Then this switch is turned on again and process is continued until current pulse ceases, as desired. After that both switches of voltage inverter are turned off. One inverter switch is then closed in equal time intervals of ton = 1/fkref, where fkref is given frequency of current ripples; time interval of first off-position of one inverter switch to1 is assumed to equal to1 = n/fkref, where n is factor ; 0 < n < 1; fkref may vary in the course of motor operation.
EFFECT: enhanced constancy of phase current ripple frequency for better use of properties of half-wave voltage inverter switches.
